Nitro Car Reviews

Nitro cars are a great source of enjoyment and fun for adults and kids.  It makes sense to read about several nitro cars online before making your purchase so that you have all of the information necessary to make an informed decision.  It also may help if you have experience with electric rc cars before you step up to purchasing a nitro rc car, but that is not a requirement.  You can always learn as you go.  Below we have reviewed  of some of our favorite nitro cars that we have been able to test out - to help you better shop and make a smarter decision when purchasing an rc nitro car.

Jato Nitro Stadium Truck by Traxxas
This truck has great acceleration and speed.  It can reach 60mph in just over 4 seconds, tops out at 65mph and can pull wheelies in 2nd gear.  The engine does take a bit of time to break in, as described in the instructions.  This thing is equipped with a TRX 3.3 racing engine.  It seems to be pretty durable, but with the price tag, don't let your kids go running this thing into the walls.  A great nitro rc truck by Traxxas!

Nitro Stampede RTR by Traxxas
The Stampede name is known for great monster truck fun and the nitro version of this truck is the next step up.  This thing combines the power of a monster truck to drive over top of objects, with the speed you would expect from a nitro powered vehicle.  The Traxxas EZ Start button makes it easy to get this thing powered up in a hurry.  The tires on this baby also offer some serious traction.  This thing is a powerful, wheelie popping nitro truck  Not as fast as the stadium truck but it packs some serious punch.

Nitro Slayer Short Course Race Truck by Traxxas
Traxxas has a real winner with the new Slayer truck.  Under the hood, this thing is basically the same as the Revo, which has won many RC car championships over the last several years.  We driven the Revo in the past and they are great cars.  This car is also equipped with the 3.3 engine which is more than enough power.  For anyone new to racing, this is the truck to get.  It's a great truck to introduce yourself to the world of nitro car racing.


Nitro T-Maxx Monster Truck by Traxxas
This truck is huge with its 6.3 inch tall tires.  The T-Maxx is the #1 best selling monster nitro truck around.  This giant truck tops out at 45mph.  I actually started racing monster trucks with a T-Maxx nitro truck.  This thing is a big step up from racing nitro cars because of its size.  It's easy to break in and easy to setup.  It's kind of prone to flipping around turns on the street, but handles great in the grass or on dirt.  The price on amazon has come down a great deal, making this a must have truck at the current price.  Give it a look.
